Newark, New Jersey – The SPECTRUM Group’s Cyber Security & Insider Threat Team Lead, Mike Penders, will deliver a morning keynote address at the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) 2018 Cybersecurity Summit on Friday, June 15, 2018.
The theme of the Summit is “The Internet of Things: Transforming Your Business”. Penders will speak on “Visions for the Future of Cybersecurity”:
Defending corporate assets from advanced cyber adversaries has quickly emerged as the most urgent business requirement in boardrooms around the globe. This presentation will address what the future looks like for Cyber Security and will highlight best practices to secure and protect users from the threat of attack.
Penders will also moderate a panel focused on “Your Legal Response to Cyber Attacks (or, What Keeps Management Up at Night)”, featuring two cyber security lawyer panelists, Robert Egan of Archer Law and Karen Randall of Connell Foley LLP. The panel will cover some critical business topics in the cyber security arena:
Every business has protected and confidential information it is legally required to safeguard. Data breaches are impacting all industries, and hackers, competitors, disgruntled employees and the like are often to blame. This session will focus on a ransomware cyber-attack scenario and explore response options available to the enterprise, from using back-up to paying a ransom to limit exposure. It will also discuss the role of the C-Suite in setting the tone at the top to create a strong Cybersecurity culture before an attack occurs.
