Captain Christopher “Chris” Trost, U.S. Navy (Ret.) Joins The SPECTRUM Group

Alexandria, Va. – January 15, 2025 – The SPECTRUM Group (TSG) is pleased to announce that Captain Christopher “Chris” Trost, U.S. Navy (Ret.) has joined its firm. Captain Trost supports clients in program management, operations, and depot maintenance, drawing on his extensive program management, technical, and contract performance claim dispute background in the Navy and the defense industry.

“Chris brings exceptional experience, expertise, and integrity to TSG,” said Andrew J. Campbell, TSG Executive Chairman. “He will expertly support our clients in engineering, supply chain, program management, and contract performance domains. I’m grateful to Chris for his years of service to our country and look forward to working together closely.”

Prior to joining TSG, Captain Trost was a Vice President at Oliver Wyman Engineers, where he led acceleration of client program/project performance from product engineering and industrialization through manufacturing operations, supply chain, and quality improvement. Previously, he was a Partner at PA Consulting Group, where he led teams in improving major defense program performance from design/development to production and maintenance/sustainment. Captain Trost’s work encompassed performance recovery and disputes using system dynamics and other advanced analytical techniques. Earlier, he served as a Program Manager and Capture Manager for U.S. and global Navy projects at Raytheon, supporting programs including DDG-1000, the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), Sa’ar 5+ Combat Systems, and Airborne Low Frequency Sonar (ALFS).

“TSG is fortunate to have Chris join our team,” said TSG’s President, Major General George Close, U.S. Army (Ret.) “His deep lifecycle program management background and Navy and engineering expertise will enhance many TSG practice areas, including Defense & Aerospace, International, and Naval & Missile Defense.”

Captain Trost’s U.S. Navy career included service as a Submarine Officer and Engineering Duty Officer on active duty and as a reserve officer. His assignments included the USS Phoenix (SSN 702), Norfolk Naval Shipyard, the Board of Inspection and Survey, Supervisor of Shipbuilding Groton, Newport News, and the Office of Naval Research (ONR).
