PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

General Coffin supports clients in space, missile defense, and cyber domains, using his deep expertise in space capability and force design and development, rapid prototyping, fielding, space domain awareness and collision avoidance, laser clearing, intelligence, space control, missile warning, satellite communication, test and evaluation (T&E), DOTMLPF (doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities) integration, international and commercial partnerships, and Department of Defense (DoD) space activities.

Prior to joining The SPECTRUM Group, General Coffin served as Managing Director, Space Warfighting Division, MITRE, supporting space acquisition and operations for the U.S. Space Force, Secretary of the Air Force directorates, U.S. Space Force (USSF), Space Systems Command, Space Training and Readiness Command, Space Warfighting Analysis Center, Space Security and Defense Program, Joint Task Force Space Defense, and the Space Rapid Capabilities Office. Earlier, he served as a Senior Advisor for Space Domain Awareness (SDA) for USSF Space and Missile Command, Space Domain Awareness Division, and for Leidos Defense and Intelligence Group as a Program Manager and Space Domain Expert. Previously, General Coffin helped the UAE develop a 10-year plan for its military space capability development.

In his 35-year U.S. Army career, General Coffin served as Commanding General, White Sands Missile Range, leading T&E for complex weapons and intelligence systems including F-35, Patriot, Army Integrated Air & Missile Defense (AIAMD), SM-6, small diameter bombs (SDB), laser and directed energy, and hypersonics with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), NASA, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and the Army, Navy, and Air Force. As Deputy Commanding General, Joint Functional Component Command for Space (JFCC SPACE), U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), he worked with DARPA, U.S. Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM), and allied nations. Earlier, General Coffin served as Deputy Commanding General, Operations, Space and Missile Defense Command / Army Strategic Command (SMDC/ARSTRAT), resourcing, manning, leading, and operating ICBM missile defense / Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) forces and Space forces across 14 countries.
