PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Mr. Miller supports clients across the global defense industrial base, national security sector, Department of War, Department of State, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection leveraging his more than three decades of executive leadership experience.
Prior to joining SPECTRUM Group, Mr. Miller served over 30 years in the federal government serving as a U.S. Army Officer and Civil Servant. Most recently, he served as Chief of Staff for the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations. Upon transitioning from military service to civil service, he served as the Executive Officer to the Executive Assistant Commissioner for Enterprise Services at U.S. Customs and Border Protection. His career included assignments across the United States and overseas tours in Korea, Belgium, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Honduras. Selected as a Secretary of Defense intern, then-Captain Miller served as junior military aide to Peter Rodman, Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy. Over the course of his career, he commanded at the company, detachment, battalion, and brigade levels, concluding his military service as Chief of Staff to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy, and Environment.
Mr. Miller is a Certified Board Advisor (CBA) with the American Institute of Certified Board Advisors, as well as a Level 4 Certified Chief of Staff (CSA). He is a graduate of the Chief of Staff Association’s inaugural Executive Chief of Staff Certification Programs at both Oxford University and Harvard Business School. Mr. Miller holds a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Eisenhower School (formerly the Industrial College of the Armed Forces) and a Master of Arts in Intelligence from the U.S. Marine Corps University.
