PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Admiral Mahon supports clients working in Navy and maritime arenas, applying his extensive seapower capability systems business development experience to deliver increased value to both clients and their customers. He provides substantial experience building mission-focused teams and successfully solving dynamic industry challenges.

Prior to joining The SPECTRUM Group, Admiral Mahon served as the Business Development Executive at the Director and Senior Director levels for the Seapower Capability Systems business area of Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems. There, he was responsible for business development of Raytheon’s naval radars, combat systems, sonars, torpedoes, and mine countermeasures, as well as integrating these capabilities into major shipbuilding programs. Admiral Mahon was instrumental in enabling Raytheon to win several major competitive opportunities, and to sustain and grow its seapower portfolio.

Previously, Admiral Mahon served a 30-year career in the U.S. Navy, with leadership roles spanning the command of the USS Laboon, Destroyer Squadron 15 (Yokusuka, Japan), and Standing NATO Maritime Group ONE. His flag officer assignments included serving as the Director of Deep Blue on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations and as Deputy Director, Surface Warfare (OPNAV N86B). He also served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Commander, Maritime Air for the Maritime Component Command, Northwood, United Kingdom.
