PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Admiral Melson supports clients in military maritime and aviation operations, maintenance, training, and contested logistics, leveraging his extensive experience in maritime patrol aviation, amphibious group operations, and combat logistics force sustainment. He delivers unique and current expertise in Indo-Pacific and Western Pacific geographic, strategic, and multinational military cooperation domains.

Prior to joining The SPECTRUM Group (TSG), Admiral Melson served a 32-year U.S. Navy career, culminating in his commanding Task Force 73 / Logistics Group Western Pacific, the U.S. Pacific Fleet’s premier forward-based logistics task force in Singapore, where he held control responsibility for all naval air and surface logistics forces. Previously, he served as Deputy Director for Joint Force Integration on the Joint Staff (J7), where he led the development and design of future joint warfighting concepts and coordinated the complex wargames used to analyze and refine those concepts.

Admiral Melson’s previous Navy assignments included key legislative and command / command support roles. As Deputy Director of the U.S. Navy Senate Liaison Office, he served as the key military liaison officer among Senate members and the Offices of the Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) and the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO). Earlier, Admiral Melson served as the Naval Aide to the Vice President of the United States, and also served as the Senior Military Assistant to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR). A career Naval Flight Officer, he commanded at the squadron, ship, and task force levels, and is proficient in Spanish and Italian.
