General McNamara supports clients in conducting air and missile defense business. He delivers extensive experience developing strategy, policy, and plans for joint, combined, and interagency operations, while also leading large, complex organizations. General McNamara draws on this experience to help clients manage change, build teams and relationships, and partner with the U.S. and partner nation militaries and agencies.
Prior to joining The SPECTRUM Group, General McNamara served as Vice President, Air and Missile Defense Programs, U.S. Business Development at Raytheon Company, with responsibility for developing capability focused strategies with customers and industry partners to shape and grow missile defense markets, and creating and winning U.S. and international business opportunities across Raytheon.
General McNamara’s 30-year U.S. Army career culminated in his serving as Director, Force Development, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8. He led formulation of Army equipping strategies for resourcing and fielding capabilities and was responsible for developing and resourcing the Army’s Modernization strategy.
Previously, General McNamara served in several key General Officer assignments: Deputy, Missile Defense Agency, Office of the Secretary of the Defense; Commanding General, U.S. Army Developmental Test Command; and Deputy, Joint Theater Air and Missile Defense Organization, Joint Staff/J-8. During combat operations in Desert Shield and Desert Storm, he was the Brigade Plans Officer of the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, which oversaw the Patriot Missile Units deployed to Saudi Arabia. Other positions included command at all levels, future at air and missile defense (AMD) combat development, AMD fielding across all the combatant commands, and formalizing Joint/Army doctrine.
