PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

General Schenk supports clients in government and private sector work focused on defense acquisition, strategic planning and execution, complex organizational problem-solving, and generating community support.

Prior to joining The SPECTRUM Group, General Schenk held executive leadership positions at General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS). As Vice President, Israel Defense Program, for three years, he led GDLS engagements in Israel. He also served as Vice President of GDLS International Tank Programs, serving clients in Australia, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Morocco. General Schenk also served as VP of Communications, including leading workforce development and leadership programs, with a focus on attracting, retaining, and developing a full-spectrum global workforce.

General Schenk served a 33-year U.S. Army career, leading several operational and acquisition organizations spanning the breadth of combined arms employment in combat and managing several major defense acquisition programs across all phases of the acquisition lifecycle. His Army Acquisition Corps assignments included serving as Abrams Tank System Coordinator, and as Program Manager of Future Combat Systems and of Stryker Brigade Combat Team, two separate Army modernization programs. He served in Operation Desert Storm, and has substantial expertise in military planning, combat operations, and sustainment.

General Schenk previously served as a consultant and Board Member for Automotion Alley, a nonprofit technology and manufacturing association connecting industry, academia, and government in support of economic growth and innovation in Michigan. In addition to his work at The SPECTRUM Group, he serves as President of Motor City Veteran’s Village, a nonprofit focused on enhancing veterans’ quality of life in metropolitan Detroit.
