Christopher Nielsen, SES (Ret.) Joins The SPECTRUM Group

Alexandria, Va. – October 2, 2023 – The SPECTRUM Group (TSG) is pleased to announce that Christopher “Chris” Nielsen, SES (Ret.) has joined its firm. Mr. Nielsen delivers an impressive background in U.S. and international investigative, security, and risk management domains, adding new dimension to TSG’s Security practice area.

With more than 25 years in law enforcement, investigations, security, and business operations, Mr. Nielsen brings to TSG a strong background supporting clients in security affairs across Europe, Latin America, and Asia, and with law enforcement policy, training, and operations.

“TSG is fortunate to have Chris join our team,” said TSG’s President, Major General George Close, U.S. Army (Ret.) “His military service, coupled with his distinguished career with the DEA, will be key factors in assisting clients with matters involving law enforcement and security.”

Prior to joining The SPECTRUM Group, Mr. Nielsen served a 26-year career with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), retiring as Associate Administrator, where he led and optimized business operations for the DEA’s 15,000 personnel across 70 countries and $3.1B budget. He previously served in key DEA Senior Executive Service (SES) roles, including as Far East Regional Director (Thailand), where he led DEA operations in 18 offices across 14 countries in Asia and Oceania, and as Special Agent in Charge for Northern and Central California. Mr. Nielsen also previously served as the DEA Country Attaché for the U.S. Embassy in Germany and as a Group Supervisor and Senior Special Agent for the U.S. Embassy in Bolivia. He also previously served in the U.S. Army, earning a Ranger Tab and attaining the rank of Captain.
