PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Captain Trost supports client efforts in program management, operations, and depot maintenance, drawing on his extensive program management and technical background in the Navy and the defense industry. He also delivers substantial expertise in addressing and resolving contract claims in disputes involving government contract performance issues.

Prior to joining The SPECTRUM Group, Captain Trost was a Vice President at Oliver Wyman Engineers, where he led acceleration of client program/project performance from product engineering and industrialization through manufacturing operations, supply chain, and quality improvement. Previously, he was a Partner at PA Consulting Group, where he led teams in improving major defense program performance from design/development to production and maintenance/sustainment. Captain Trost’s work encompassed performance recovery and disputes using system dynamics and other advanced analytical techniques. Earlier, he served as a Program Manager and Capture Manager for U.S. and global Navy projects at Raytheon, supporting programs including DDG-1000, the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), Sa’ar 5+ Combat Systems, and Airborne Low Frequency Sonar (ALFS).

Captain Trost’s U.S. Navy career included service as a Submarine Officer and Engineering Duty Officer on active duty and as a reserve officer. His assignments included the USS Phoenix (SSN 702), Norfolk Naval Shipyard, the Board of Inspection and Survey, Supervisor of Shipbuilding Groton, Newport News, and the Office of Naval Research (ONR).
