Dr. Rhem supports clients in specialized consulting, training, and research focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and knowledge management (KM), leveraging his more than 30 years of executive experience in AI, KM, information and data architecture, and innovation. As a certified assessor, trainer, and strategic program leader, he has guided major AI and KM initiatives across diverse sectors, helping clients implement emerging technologies, governance models, and best practices for digital transformation.
Prior to joining The SPECTRUM Group (TSG), Dr. Rhem held numerous leadership roles within the International Bar Association, contributing extensively to its KM, AI, and information technology initiatives. He previously served as Chairman and Trustee of the Board and as Co-Director of Research at the Knowledge Systems Institute (KSI). Additionally, Dr. Rhem was a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Review Panelist for the National Science Foundation (NSF).
In addition to his work at TSG, Dr. Rhem is the founder and CEO of AJ Rhem & Associates, a specialized consulting, training, and research firm focused on AI and KM. He also serves as a member of the Board of Advisors at Halen Technologies. He is a founding editorial board member of the AI and Ethics Journal, and for more than 16 years, has served as an instructor and training partner in the Global Knowledge Management Certification Program at the Knowledge Management Institute (KMI).
Dr. Rhem is a recognized thought leader and published author; his most recent work, Essential Topics in Artificial Intelligence, explores critical areas of today’s AI landscape, including AI ethics and governance, large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, artificial general intelligence, natural language processing (NLP), human-computer interaction, and the future of work. His certifications include: IEEE CertifAIEd Authorized Lead Assessor in AI Ethics (IEEE SA); AI Leadership from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM) from KMI; and Certified ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance.
