Colonel Carty supports clients across the defense industry, drawing on his extensive expertise in Special Operations and leadership training. He delivers significant experience in improving client organizations, operations, and leadership, focused on Special Operations, international partner operations, and security force assistance.
Prior to joining The SPECTRUM Group, Colonel Carty served as the Deputy Commandant of the U.S. Army Infantry School, overseeing 27 instructional and specialty skill programs from entry-level to senior leader, and supporting the successful integration of women into combat arms training.
In his 26-year U.S. Army career, Colonel Carty served as the Commander of Special Operations Command (Forward) – Yemen, coordinating U.S. joint, inter-agency, intergovernmental, and multi-national Security Force assistance with international partners. He previously served as Commander of Special Operations Task Force – South in Kandahar, Afghanistan, and as Chief of the G3 Special Operations Division on the Army Staff. He deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, and many other countries throughout the Middle East and Asia.
In addition to his work at The SPECTRUM Group, Colonel Carty is an adjunct instructor at Middle Georgia State University. He also delivers lectures to academic and government organizations on leadership, management, security force assistance, counter-terrorism, and counterinsurgency.
