PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
General Malone supports clients throughout the research, development, production, and post-production lifecycle, with a focus on training, readiness, armaments, ammunition, R&D, and international domains.
Prior to joining The SPECTRUM Group, General Malone served a 32-year U.S. Army career. As Joint Program Executive Officer, Armaments and Ammunition (JPEO A&A), he held responsibility for 400-plus development, production, and end-of-life programs with a $4B-plus budget, and concurrently served as Commanding General of Picatinny Arsenal. Previously, as Deputy Commanding General of Army Research, Development & Engineering Command (RDECOM) – now Combat Capabilities Development Command, U.S. Army Futures Command (DEVCOM / CCDC) – he managed international technology co-development opportunities with U.S. partner nations across 11 global centers.
General Malone served as Deputy Director for Plans, Programs & Resources, co-leading working group development of the Army’s 5-year funding outlook and $80B budget request for its equipping and sustaining portfolios. As Project Manager, Training Devices, Army PEO Simulation, Training & Instrumentation (PEO STRI), he managed the $500M modernization of the Army’s premier force-on-force training centers.
General Malone also previously served as Portfolio Director, Soldier & Maneuver Systems, U.S. Army Headquarters; Division Chief, Plans & Integration, Army Central Command Support Element – Afghanistan; and as a legislative liaison for the Army Weapons & Tracked Combat Vehicles (WTCV) portfolio.
In addition to his work at The SPECTRUM Group, General Malone serves as Executive Director of the Training & Readiness Accelerator (TReX II) OTA prototyping consortium supporting Army PEO STRI.
